Party Party
Well… The word PARTY in itself sends a thrill down your spine, and brings a smile on your face. It could be a birthday, farewell or may be a success party or simply a get together in your sitting room. Humans, animals all party.
Have you seen animal & birds enjoy a party??? I have seen. In fact, I am a witness to such a party almost every day, on my morning walk. On the wall of the park, fifteen inches broad few passers-by, put bread crumbs, roti crumbs, millet grains... barely, wheat, and bajra. Squirrels, pigeons, bulbuls, sparrows, crows and to my surprise a langur… all enjoy on a common table, the boundary wall of the park. No fighting, silently enjoying each grain or crumb.
At a birthday party eats are accompanied by dance music. At a farewell party… greetings, shaking hands, kiss and hugs. Each one waits for their turn. Dressed elegantly in frocks, skirts, gowns, sarees, trousers, shirts and suits. The animals party every day, no special occasion is required, no make-up, no dresses just chirping that is their way of expressing thrill and joy.
What a simple way! Not costly at all. That is the difference between animals and humans.

During the recent Navratri celebration, new colourful dresses, yes… bare feet dancing before the Goddess Durga. All nine days. Laddoos, barfi, samosa, chips, and cold drink. What a thrill! Suspense of the eats was over once the host opened the box.
A new host every evening. Children, middle aged women, men, senior, super senior citizens. On the day of the immersion of the idol of the Goddess a grand pure vegetarian lunch was served.
The concluding of all festivities came with Dussehra. Once again dance, dresses and the Ramlila, burning of the effigy of Ravan, the so considered demon. The next evening my sitting room was flooded by guests. Spoons… plates clattering. Yes, one small piece, no not this, or just a spoon of namkeen, a few wafers. Expected guests but the sitting room flooded with individuals, all decked up, flooded with lights & lamps. Yes, each guest is ready to serve. Few females all prepared to clear the table.
Finally… bye-bye, namaste. Now when do we meet... Diwali is not far off just twenty days.
Planning, meeting, enjoying. Bye-bye till then.
