Mistletoe Magic – What’s inside the pages?
The fragrance of roses fills the air. It’s that time of the year. It’s February, the month of love. And, I’m back with my next novel – Mistletoe Magic.
The story begins with Lavinia Hart, a florist and the owner of Hart’s Hearth and Home meeting Alex Ashford, an author at her flower store. Though there’s that spark of an initial attraction they both part ways not giving each other much thought. Then comes Pastor James into the tale, who suggests quite casually that the author can rent rooms at the home stay – Hart’s Hearth and Home for a couple of months to work on his latest novel.
Nancy, Lavinia’s seven year old niece plays an important role in bringing the couple closer with her innocently voiced questions. A friendship builds between Alex and the little girl. They enjoy walks in the forests and storytelling sessions together. On the side, Alex and Lavinia are drawn to each other. There’s an attraction sizzling and simmering under the surface which neither wants to accept. A kiss under the magical mistletoe on Christmas Eve finally brings acceptance, but not to each other. When the heartless Genevieve Merton interferes on Boxing Day to cause a rift between the lovers, it is time to initiate Operation Mistletoe Magic!
The fragrance of the Christmas tree and logs burning; and the warmth from the fireplace contribute to a feeling of cosiness. The Thanksgiving and Christmas meal generate images of festivity and sufficiency. How can one forget the snowman when it’s a white Christmas? So, Nancy, Alex and Lavinia build a snowman and christen him Fluffy.
The novel celebrates marriage with three couples tying the knot. It begins with a wedding and ends with one. All the fun that comes with preparing for a wedding find place in the story... preparing food, wine, bouquets, corsages, boutonnieres; also dancing and singing.
The novel has twenty-five chapters for the twenty-five days of Christmas and the Epilogue for Boxing Day. An element of magic is added to bring in the magic of Christmas, a time for miracles and love.
I hope you’ll enjoy every minute that goes into reading this novel. I look forward to your generous feedback through reviews on the online shopping stores, my website and youtube channel. Happy reading!
